Whitestone Barge Removal and Intertidal Wetland Restoration

Location: Queens, NY

Purpose: Restore important habitat for invertebrates fish, and birds.

Description: Remove abandoned barge and other debris and restore 0.5 acres of tidal wetlands.

Resource Value: Habitat restoration

Cost: $27,000 or provide Spartina plants.

Permit Requirements: NYSDEC Tidal Wetland Permit obtained for cleanup; Permit pending for restoration.
